San Saba County has four parks and each have distinct characteristics of the Central Texas – Hill Country area. Whether an outdoor enthusiast wanting to spend the day, or just needing a place for a nice picnic, each park has something for you to enjoy.


Colorado Bend State Park 

Offers Six Miles of Colorado River frontage for tubing, fishing, kayaking, and swimming, plus guided tours of Gorman Falls and birdwatching. Open Daily.

Mill Pond Park

City park including San Saba Mill House and Water Wheel, picnic sites, pool, pavilion, campground with RV hookups and more.

Risien Park

Located on Hwy 190 east of San Saba, this park is bordered on one side by the beautiful San Saba River and full of shady pecan trees.  You’ll find picnic sites, playgrounds, a pavilion, volleyball courts and a rock amphitheatre.

San Saba River Nature Park

The new 40-acre LCRA-owned park includes a large pecan orchard with some centuries-old trees and frontage on Mill Creek and the San Saba River. Amenities include a hike and bike trail around the park, fishing areas, an archeological interpretive area, wildlife viewing sites, restroom facilities and more.
